| My SS story | Trevo Feb 12, 2002 10:26 AM | | Theres it is my limited edition Bianchi ghetto speed. Its my commuter bike. My brother found it next to a dumpster. The frame, stem, headset, cranks,BB,brakes, bars, levers and ring all came from a campus dumpster. So since I had no bike to ride to school ( kona frame coming this friday) I borrowed wheels from my mom's 10 speed and fiddled with the chain a bunch. Its 42/17 and its perfect. Since I dident wanna spend any cash on it I used electrical tape for bar tape. I have the seatpost shimmed with tape and cut washers for ring spacers. After my friends dad gets off his ass( wont be any time soon) Hes giving me new wheels and gonna thread aBMX freewheel on it so its not so ghetto. SS rocks and so does road biking. |
| That's One Of The Finest Examples of "American Yard-Bike"... | T O M A Feb 12, 2002 1:58 PM | | I've seen in a while! Don't change a thing! well, ok... better wheels are always an acceptable upgradebut not too much better don't want to corrupt the"found-in-yard-broke" appeal this bike is dripping with. |
