I was wondering if anyone out there from the Western Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virgina set could give me a little info.
I'm looking to hit some new trails (I'm from the D.C. metropolitan area) and this one has struck some interest in me. I've read MORE's online synopsis and they make it sound as if they climbing is pretty brutal (and I believe the Alleghanies are out there and that the area is relatively mountainous).
Does anyone on this board use these trails for regular SSing and find that it's not that big of a deal?
The park is about 2.5-3 hours away from where I live so I'd hate to drive out there only to find that my legs and lungs are toast in a matter of minutes.
Ideally, I'd like to do an overnighter there too. Are there enough trails in the park to justify a campout or perhaps another good SS-friendly network nearby (I'm sure the area has tons of trails).
