Apr 18, 2002 6:58 AM | | Hi there! -My suggestion would be to turn the stem uppside down. This will lover your position, and propably bring it closer to what you're used to. An alternative is to use a zero-rise stem.

Apr 18, 2002 10:24 AM | | Looks like you installed a suspension fork onto the made for a rigid fork Ute. Yup it will steer funny, the head angle is now way slacker than how Chester specs the Ute. It will be slow and stable on the long fast decents though. |

I just rode yesterday so it was from sitting, very strange though....and on top of all that, I'm getting used to the new angles on this bike also. Thinking of different stem.

Apr 18, 2002 7:10 PM | | You keep those DOPE Oury grips, it's all good! I did the same thing a few years ago with a rigid Fisher hardtail. Man, that bike handled like a chimp on crack until I got 'used' to it. I ended up cutting about 1/2" of the elastomer stack out of my '97 Manitou FS, and kept the sag pretty soft. This worked really well when I kept the rebound damping to almost nothing. |
