Coming out of the closet -(7 posts)

Coming out of the closet -fixeyfreeride

yep. I did it.
I'm coming to terms with my fascination.
I ordered that new Rocky Mtn ETS X70 full suspension thing with all kinds of knobs and strange dials and things that move that shouldn't.
Does that make me a bad person?
I still ride my crusty old ss rockhopper and 80's Paramount track bike (speaking of which - I just saw this homeless guy walking a beautiful chromed 60's/70's era PARAMOUNT!- need to find him and take him out to lunch.. that'll be another story)

Thanks GMF for enabling my coming out.

New bike will be here in 2 weeks - I can't wait!

It looks like a very cool bike. It is a tempting design. Please give us a ride report - even though it is not a SS.

Hope it isn't as flexy in the rear as it looks like it might be. My Superlight is flexy in the back and it's noticable sometimes, like when the tire rubs the inside of a chainstay.

Snap goes the seat stay?wah

You sayin' it needs a reinforcing brace for the disc mount???
You talkin' to me?Monte

Not about the brake mount reinforcing. I'm talking about the trapazoidal pivot setup. Small links, close pivots, looks flexy.

why are you pinning this on me???GMF

Didn't you see that i can put horizontal drops on my bike???

And my old Trek Fixie is sitting in the garage, too... and will continue to get use as the 'round towner that it really is.

Either way, looks like you'll be getting a pretty cool bike, too. We should probably post pictures of our SS's and fixies to redeem ourselves on this page, though, eh?
