Who wants a 19t or 20t King Kog?(6 posts)

Who wants a 19t or 20t King Kog?Spar†¡cus

Hey y'all,

I've emailed King Cycle Group twice in the last three months inquiring about availability of the 19t & 20t King Kogs that their website says they now offer. Here's a copy of their latest reply:

"Hi Dave,
We did a test run of some 19 tooth aluminum cogs a little while ago and they sold out in a couple of days.
We have been having a hard time sourceing the bar stock to make the cogs and at the time we are out of stock of both sizes. Sorry, we're really sorry.
Don't worry though, we are committed to making them. We get calls daily about them and we are motivated.
Please keep calling or emailing us about these and we'll give you the updates.
Thanks for your understanding,
King Sales"

This is similar to what I was told the first time I inquired back in late March or so. I really have the impression that with regard to production, King is simply responding to product demand and the main reason they're not producing the 19t & 20t cogs doesn't have as much to do with sourceing materials as it does with 1) higher demand for other hot King products like their ISO disc hubs, &/or 2) lack of substantial demand for the larger SS cogs.

The "Please keep calling or emailing us about these and we'll give you the updates" comment made me think I should probably bring anyone else out there waiting for these cogs into the loop. If you want one like I do, please write to King at info@chrisking.com and tell them that you've got your wallet out and can hardly wait to pull some cash out and toss it their way.

Oh, and while you're at it, please suggest that they offer them in steel as well as (or in lieu of) aluminum.

Thanks,
Spar†y

asking for the 20T, preferably in steel. I love the 18T I have, but a 20 would be even better, rather than one of the crappy Shimano cogs.

I'm in. Also waiting for more king SS disc hubs to be produced. Sucks having to wait for quality products.

Just sent my CK hubs to my wheel builder. Waiting to get them back. Would love a 19 and/or 20.
