It's been a while since I've raced. I forgot how much fun it was. I was huffing and puffing so loud and audibly, it made me laugh. Also, the KFC I slammed an hour before the race also came back up for a visit on the second lap. I think I did ok though... #4. See anyone else out there for the rest of the series?
Way to go, Drev!...eelpie

quite a showing for a first race in so long (or any for that matter). Guess you recovered from Sunday's almost-20. Must have been that Guinness you skipped. That, or the reverse pinch-flat karma.

I'm building up the nerve. I have to start actually RIDING Wakefield before I hop on the race circuit (too much round and round on the 'stink). I need to catch up with TOMA over there one of these evenings...that ought to get me up to speed (literally).

Again, congrats.

I didn't have much fun painting on wednesday, my displeasure was compounded knowing i was missing the first SS race at wakefield! Since my (pregnant) wife made arrangements to spend the night with her sister while I painted, I couldn't reschedule. I'm going to miss the race on the 10th as well since i'll be on vacation! I'm going to ride the course next wed (even though there's no race) at least i'll be able to check out the course. I hope it doesn't get altered to much, I want to see what lap time i can do!

If anyone wants to ride, let me know.
I'm interested. I need to check it out too. Give me a call....eelpie

Sure wish I coulda been there. I'll be getting more diagnostics done on my hand when they take the cast off next week, but it looks like I might be out for the rest of the summer. If I can get off work early enough, I'll come out for support if you guys are gonna be out for the next one.
Geez Shiv, then you really did break it?....eelpie

So what broke? That's rough, man. Hope it heals quick, and let us know when you're ready to get back in the saddle again!

Nothing apparently broken - some small fracturing, and an extensive enough array of ligament and tendon damage that they felt disposed to immobilize the thumb and wrist in a cast. I'll see an Orthopedic next week now that the swelling is going down to get reevaluated and maybe new X-rays/MRI. Time will tell....
