Xpost @ braketime! mechanicals - wetness and pad wear ??anon

Seems lots of SSer's have AVIDs so a quick question for you all:

How long do mechanical brake pads last in wet conditions? I've heard the Avids work great in wet conditions, but go through the pads just as fast if not faster than rim brakes.

It gets pretty wet and grimmy around here, haven't had trouble with the V's and wetness, just looking for better performance/longer pad wear.

Thanks,
B
