What color are you gonna paint it? What make? All you really need to do it is Some sandpaper. If you know anyone who lives in a house off campus just go do it in there alley or basement. Hell Id do it outside or in the showers! Perfect ventelation. Just sand it down and primer it, sand it, primer it, sand it. Do that a couple of times then paint it and sand it and repeat. Iam currently re-painting my frame. Its a 98 Hardrock and weve removed all the rack tabs, cable stops, and all the crap, Then were gonna braze on full brake routing guides. Then its about a week of primer/sanding/painting. then the final CRC
"one Fu*king Speed" stickers will be applied and BOOM. I got a UPS Brown bike.

Hope this helps
Ditto Trevo ... I did it a few months ago myselfGlowBoy

I didn't even pull the fork off the bike! I just bagged up the rest of the bike, pulled off the wheel and brakes, taped or plugged all holes and other no-paint zones, cleaned and sanded (220 grit), and started spraying. Make sure to keep the can moving and spray from a variety of angles to ensure even coverage, and sand again with 220 between coats. My paint was pretty fast-drying and I got about 8 coats on the fork in an afternoon. Amazingly, I ended up with only one drip, and it was in an inconspicousplace. And I used less than a can of paint, so I figure the total cost of this project was under 5 bucks.

Here's a pic of the bike that gives some kind of idea what the fork looks like, though you are highly unlikely to want to use Red Devil Safety Yellow like I did. I may change my color scheme a bit this fall as I swap out the yellow 'gator tires for something else, though I'll make sure it'll still make me worthy of being called GlowBoy:
