| Maintenance on a Bianchi DISS? | IF Crown Jewel Jan 31, 2003 10:46 AM | | Being quite ignorant of any maintenance requirements of single speed bicycles relative to their multi speed cousins, I want to ask what type of hub and chain maintenance must I do on my DISS? I know certainly about cleaning and lubricating the chain. But is there anything specific I need to do for the rear Spot hub? ANd how about the front hub? I think it is by WTB.
Any insights will be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,

Called Spot and they advised me to remove the wheel, screw the axle bolts half way into the axel and then smack it with a hard rubber mallet. It worked it is smoother. Not Chris King smooth, but will work with a SS. Keep the Avids adjusted, watch for any unusual wear on the pads. If they glaze a quick flat touch with a file works wonders. Clean the rotors with rubbing alcohol. As for the rest of it treat it like a bike.
Hope this helps
