Chameleon, Unit, or ? (2 posts)
| Chameleon, Unit, or ? | veelz Feb 3, 2003 6:34 AM | | My brother wants to trade me back for the converted frame that I am currently using. The two frames that he could probably get his hands are are the Santa Cruz Chameleon or the Kona Unit. I was wondering what peoples opinion of the santa cruz was. Anything else that I shouldn't miss with a reasonable price range.

| Chameleon!!! | ARmtnBIKER Feb 3, 2003 8:24 AM | | it really all depends on what type riding you like to do. If you are into racing and looking for a very quick, nimble, stiff frame than the Chameleon is perfect. It is one of the most responsive bikes I have ever owned, however there is a price to pay for being so stiff and responsive. It is also one of the roughest riding bikes I have ever owned, but once I started running Stan's on it and was able to lower my tire pressures that problem was somewhat resolved. If your a purist single speeder thats into the "steel is real" movement then you better forget the Chameleon, but if you are planning on racing it the Chameleon is a great frame to get, especially for the price. |
