XT cranks with 4-arms, I need SS chainring to fit... (6 posts)
| XT cranks with 4-arms, I need SS chainring to fit... | chaka Feb 3, 2003 1:11 PM | | I have XT cranks with 4-arms, it seems that all SS chainrings that I have seen are compatable for 5-arm cranks. I am looking for a 32T SS chainring, what would you recommend and where can I purchase?
The Spot chainrings look good but Excel Sports only has 32T for 5-arm cranks. |

| Also Salsa | SSDunderhead Feb 3, 2003 1:21 PM | | The Standard rings are rampless and pinless. You can get them here at AEBike . |
| And Truvativ Singlespeed rings | wooglin Feb 3, 2003 1:34 PM | | $18 from Cambria. Can't comment on durability yet, but the price is right.

| Assume the position... | chaka Feb 3, 2003 2:49 PM | | I hope I have assumed correctly, XT 4-arm cranks require a 104mm chainring. I will look at Salsa, Blackspire, and Truvativ.
Also, since I am going to order a 32mm chainring, what size bashring/chainguard do I want to order?
I don't so big a chainguard that everytime I hit the chainguard the chainguard breaks. Also, I don't so small that the chainguard doesn't serve a purpose in protecting the chainring. |
| Nashbar | JeffC Feb 4, 2003 11:52 AM | | I just picked up a Nashbar chainring dirt cheap. No idea about its durability. It doesn't have ramps or pins. Check their site. |
