| Anyone used a DMR Chain Reactor tensioner? NB not a KORE! | Henry Dorset Case Feb 3, 2003 4:20 PM | | I am sick of the rattling noise made by my singleator, and want my off road SS to be as quiet as my road SS (ahhhhh, horizontal dropouts!), one of the hot tickets to quiet down a singleator is apparently to replace the jockey wheel with a roller from a chainguide (eg mountainspeed or one of those). BUT, for just a little more than what it would cost for just a roller, I can buy a DMR Chain Reactor. It is a bottom run only, BB mounted roller tensioner.

Unfortunately the review on this site is for another DMR product, not this one, so my question is has anyone used this product? good? not good? etc.
any feedback appreciated, cheers! |

you might just try going to a freeride-oriented LBS and ask to buy an chainguide roller and see if that will work with the singleator. they usually have a few lying around that can be had for less than $10 for sure. and sometimes you can get one in the ever-so-cool MRP Orange. |
| it is sort of what I already have, though | Henry Dorset Case Feb 4, 2003 2:38 PM | | in that I have a singleator already. that looks very singleator-ish although it looks like a machined jockey wheel on a bearing....
I will try and go have a look at the DMR one though, maybe I can swap the wheels or something. |

The DMR version (Reactor) would be difficult to adjust chain tension, as you can only move the pully in and out (I tried it with a cheap no-name version). With something like the Truvativ pulley guide, the arm can easily be swung radially without losening the BB - and it's alot cheaper.
