How many of you people out there just read this board and almost never post? How about just put your screen name and type of bike on a reply?
I never post - just a lurker ;^P (nm)shiggy

lurker = l·u·r·k·e·r; liar = l·i·a·r. Big diff! :D (nm)Sparty

Hi, I'm a Lurker and I ride a single speed. I ride a Voodoo Hoodoo and I single speed out of spite. I couldn't get my chain to stop skipping in the rear. I tried swapping out everything barring the frame and just got so mad that I just started taking things apart. I have found that I am a much stronger rider, but since I am in Florida alot of trails are flat with short steep uphills, so I have yet to find a gear ratio that I feel 100% comfortable with. But I still don't know that I will ever go back to multiple gears. I also ride a 20 inch bmx bike. Wow, thats more than i've posted in a year.
you are a perfect candidate for a fixie!redhaze

seriously.
mountain fixed gear is nuts! I've just started it but don't know if I'll be able to continue as its too hard on my body for the trails around here (pacific northwest). but florida would be perfect, bend, Oregon is also perfect for it. anyplace that is fairly flat would be a hoot. you have no idea how much control you have when you can control your speed fully with your legs. its amazing.

think about it

Yeah, I don't post much, but I check in all the time. I have two single speeds. One is a Redline Monocog with an old school Judy SL. The other is a '96 GT Avalanche convert with Maggie brakes. It's the all weather beater. The blasphemous bikes are a Fuji Team Road and a KHS softail that I picked up for a song when someone on this board gave a tip about a sale. So thanks for that. I like bikes.

I almost never post, although I read the board almost every day (except the morning some nice guy was giving away the "Master is Faster" stickers . . . sigh). I have a 1993 Bridgestone MB-5, rigid, that I've converted to single speed. 36-18 gearing and a Kore Chain Reactor for tension. My other bike is a Bianchi Campione road bike in bright red.

Alright, so I don't post much on this site and technically I don't have a singlespeed, yet (I'm working on it!), but I come to this message board to get some tips and ideas for my work in progress. One thing, though, with all the bike porn here and no love from my LBS to convert my Diamondback rigid to SS, I may just get it over with and BUY me a pre-made SS.

I try to tap into this vast key of knowledge and wisdom every day. I ride a Unibomber to work and on trails. Recently I bought an Ibis modified trial bike to learn how to hop on the back wheel, etc.
