| Anybody need a Fixie project? | Pedro Mar 27, 2003 9:18 PM | | Hey guys, I have decided to part with this classic 1983 Trek 500. Its an original Waterloo, WI handbuilt lugged Reynolds 501 steel frame. Running around 63 cm center to center, has a nice lively feel to the it. Its just a little too big for me, but would make an excellent fixie. Its got nice long horizontal D.O.'s, frame spacing is large enough to fit some meaty tires, probably at least 35's maybe 40's. Normal wear and tear of a 20 year old bike, but still in good condition.
Has an all suntour gruppo, diacompe sidepulls with plenty of clearance. SR Super Custom crankset w/110 spacing so you can stick a beefy DH ring on there :) Cut the original bars and flipped 'em to make bullhorns using the original levers. Rear spacing is 126, but I had my 130 spaced wheels in there. Wheels are not included, but I might be able to find some that could be included for an additional cost. Make an offer, the most reasonable one will get it. Hope you have fun.

| Where are you? & what's the price range you're thinking of? | offroadie Mar 28, 2003 8:51 AM | | |
| RE: | Pedro Mar 28, 2003 11:48 AM | | I'm in washington state, but we could arrange a shipping method if you want. I'm not looking to get a whole lot for it; you just got to give it a good home and post pics :) Tell me what its worth to you, and I'll see what I can do. Front derailluer is toast, and there are some scratches etc., but that shouldn't be a big deal anyway.
Oh, and the shifters are clamp-on so it would be super slick without 'em. |
| How about $30 + shipping | Pedro Mar 28, 2003 2:34 PM | | |
| damn. i'd take if if i lived anywhere near you... | offroadie Mar 28, 2003 4:03 PM | | but shipping to Orange County, CA would be at least another $50. No disrespect to you or the bike, but that's probably quite a bit more than I would pay locally for similar.
Good luck - I'm sure it will end up in a good home! |
