| shimano chainrings again | jja Jul 22, 2003 3:04 PM | | Where can I get / who makes SS chainrings for Shimano splined crank arms (XTR)?
Jericho - wanted this one but website won't process last step of order
Spot - website won't display
Warhawk - mentioned the other day via a non-functioning website,
but Warhawk's website doesn't show any splined rings.
Forge - apparently makes them but not on their website.
I suppose I can long distance call Jericho... ugh ;)

| spot and jericho... | kam Jul 22, 2003 6:03 PM | | are the only ones that offer the xtr splined chainrings. chainrings.com (the only suppier? of warhawk rings?) make ss rings that are compatible with the xtr spiders. and forge mtb from the uk make compact spiders what are compatible with the xtr spline.
so basically, give jericho a call. you're rings might even be backordered, ya never know. if you want to go with spot, try webcyclery.com or cambriabike.com.
cheers!!! |
| spot, jericho AND Forge... | ss.nl Jul 22, 2003 10:17 PM | | offer xtr splined chainrings.
Have a Forge myself, waiting for my frame to put it on, but it looks neat. Thery are realy fast replying mail, so send them a mail. |
| hmmm... | kam Jul 23, 2003 7:21 AM | | looks great. i couldn't even find them on forge-mtb's website. great ring tough, what tooth options do the have??? looks like that set up with xtr arms would be stiff as sh!t. |
| One thing to keep in mind | chuckc71 Jul 23, 2003 8:44 AM | | This may make no difference if you can adjust your chainline, but you might want to ask if there is any taper to the chainring from the mount on the crankarm to the teeth. The Jericho has about a 2-3mm taper which saved my rear chainline-wise. |
| There is more that is not on their site.. | ss.nl Jul 23, 2003 10:28 PM | | They offer the rings in 32, 33, 34, 35, & 36t, AllInOne, 4 and 5 arm.
They also have a 17 t steel cog, unfortunatly without a Kinglike wide base.. |
| forge rings | jja Jul 24, 2003 7:31 AM | | Thanks for the replies. I got a response from Forge. Like ss.nl said, they have a range of un-ramped rings (31-36t, 44t) for Shimano arms. Cost is UKP29 and shipping is UKP25, total about $87. I'm asking about shipping costs for multiple rings, perhaps that would reduce the per-ring total. Would anyone else like to go in on a group order? |
