Whose bike is this? Timmy likey.seattletim

So I was killing time on ebay, and saw a tasty Kona Ti frame. The guy included a link to this photo.

I see an mtbr.com sticker, so who is the owner??? Raise your hand, please.

Really cool rig, my man, whoever you may be!

I too have seen this while surfing on ebay. Only, I think he's keeping this one and selling his geared CX bike. BTW, That's a sweet-looking cog he's running in the back. What is that?

Just Curious

I'm not sure what brand it is, but the cog is a very nice non-ramped titanium piece that was given to me by a friend.

This cog was maufactired by Boone, he later went on to join the GT team, but after a spell, left. He no longer makes this great looking cog, but, instead, now make Ti wedding rings.

Pays to be old school once in a while....

Heheh... That Serotta is in the permanent collection and will in all likelihood never be for sale.

My life's priorities are changing a little (news to come) and it's high-time I clear out all the bike stuff that I won't get around to using/riding. My goal is to be able to keep just a very limited number (<20) of bikes so I can get rid of my rental storage space and basically get things under control. You'll see a steady stream of stuff going up for sale over the next month or so. If it's not rare enough or doesn't ride this side of phenomenal then it's probably going to be sold. Man, I can remember when I only had one mountain bike three years ago!

BTW, it turns out my mantelpiece Seven Duo likes to jump! Guess it gets to stay! :-)

just didn't feel like posting an inquiry. I do know that there has been some online photo borrowing for e-bay recently.

Chain tension like that without using a tensioner on it? I would love to try having no tensioner on my Trek.

Jul 23, 2003 6:04 PM
I made a flat spot on the axle which gave me about a millimeter or two's worth of adjustment... just enough to get the proper tension! :-)
gear ratio looks too light for such a fast bikeredhaze

and it definitely needs to be a fixie
definitely...a fixie...

what's this about "limiting" your self to only <20 bikes?
For how long???

Geared for weak legs! :-)...terminaut

All my bikes run a relatively low ratio as a majority of our rides go uuuuup followed by dowwwwwwwn. I don't find myself spun out on the downs too often since they're relatively technical. I guess the trick is to not ride any flat trails, which is easy enough to do. Also, the 28 1/2" wheel size does make the effective ratio a little higher than it looks.

Fixie? Yeah - I need to do more fixie riding for sure. I'm don't know how the Serotta's rear-end would cope with being a fixie but I suppose it could be worth experimenting with eh?

The bike reduction thing is something I'm hoping to be permanent, and am only going to keep bikes that I am completely enamored with. It feels a little liberating to be in this mode actually... although I must admit there is still one more bike for me to buy. :-)

Would that be the elusive Ti Quadrangle you had contracted to be built?

Peace,

Patrick

P.S. Good luck with whatever is coming in the future
One more bike.....sounds like maybe a custom Ti tricycle?? (nm)2farfrwd
