| What to do with an abandoned hybrid bike. | jaypee Jul 24, 2003 2:43 PM | | You turn it into this. It used to be a Specialied Crossroads. I repainted it and dubed it "Triple Figga". (long story)
Salsa bars, some random stem I picked due to the old school pully action. XT cantis, Suntor 170mm cranks, Raceface ring, and some other odds and ends from the original bike. Gearing is 42x17 and it screams in traffic. |

| Sweet, looks like a blast to ride. (nm) | jaypee Jul 24, 2003 4:59 PM | | It sure was. I guess I should have checked the spoke tension before taking it out. The bike had been sitting for a couple of years and I noticed the spokes pinging a bit as I rode. As I attacked a pretty steep hill I felt a nasty "sproing" in the rear wheel.
Tacoed.
I managed to get it back to rideable and I should be able to salvage it with a couple of hours on the truing stand.
Heheheheh.. |
| That reminds me...there was an abandoned bike... | DeeEight Jul 24, 2003 11:32 PM | | attached to a pole near a bus stop (figure that since thieves have already made off with the fork and other parts, and it was there for a week plus it counts as abandoned) I meant to check out again. Wonder if its still there. |
