I am looking to convert my hardtail to a singlespeed. I read the F.A.Q. but i dont know where to buy a chain tensioner. iam going on the cheap so i plan on using old rim and using the spacers also can i use a ring off a cassette that I have. I think thats all I need. i have the frame, wheels, fork, handlebars etc and cranks, i plan on just taking the extra two rings off the cranks that are on there now. Thanks in advance...
Here are some resources for you...LiteSpeed_2

Your local bike shop can order you a Surly Tensioner. Or, you can try one of the these online companies:

www.bikeman.com
www.jensonusa.com

BTW - You will need to use either BMX chain ring bolts, or get a bash ring.

There are several others, but this will get you started!

Good luck!

Fantastic bike shop. Custom bike builds. Great prices. Knowledgeable staff. Steve is their singlespeed guru.
