Question for the younger SS people.....(7 posts)

Question for the younger SS people.....SS Jerry
Sep 19, 2003 4:11 PM
OK I admit it... Sometimes I am out of my leauge. I would like to show my thanks to the boys at a SoCal bike shop for their assistance in procurring SS parts for my endless demands as a picky customer and would like to bring them something to enjoy in their down time, maybe some micro brews or something. I don't drink, so need a few hints, what would the boys/gals like? Only limitation is it has to be somewhat legal....

Well, Karl, he likes IPA beer, more specifically Lagunitas India Pale Ale is probably his favorite. Trader Joe's sells it. He turned me on to that beer when I lived in California. Bring Tani and the rest of the crew a mixture of some nice microbrewed ales. Maybe also a starbucks gift certificate that they can share at the shop. They deserve it, so don't skimp. Hope this helps!

That is the kind of swag I was thinking about. I am hitting the shop in about 10 days.

I asked Karl for the impossible today... I kind of felt sorry for him. You got to take care of those who do you right...

Thanks

I only know because I am the one who referred you to them..2farfrwd

..when you were looking for a good SS King/Mavic wheelset a few months ago. When you stop in the shop, tell the guys that Chris from Colorado said hello.

Take it easy.
I will tell them Hello for you....SS Jerry

A lot of bikers / wrenches drinks around here (Minnesotta) seem to run to Stouts, but those may not be so popular in other regions of the country.
I brewed up a 5 gallon batch of stout last spring that was killer. Stupid me, I drank most of it myself, gained almost 15 lbs too. Probably could have gotten a free bike if I'd passed it around at the bike shops / swap meets / alleycat rides. Well, with the weather getting cool again, I'll have another chance.
Homebrew asside, most of the stouts that come in the 12 oz "pub draught" cans are pretty good. Wattneys Oatmeal stout or Chocolate Stout are my personal faves.
For Californian tastes, I'd guess Anchor Steam or Siera Nevada pale ale are good bets.
