| Another fresh Kona SS | kcmtbr Sep 21, 2003 6:41 PM | | Just put it together last week. Only ridden it about 20 miles so far but I'm LOVIN'IT!!! Currently has 32/16 with a new 2004 Surly Singleator that has a built in chain guide. I'm pretty sure I could do 34/17 without the singleater if I file down the dropouts a little.
However, some folks have opined that if I keep the singleator I could switch gears without having to change chains. That might be a good thing about the singleator, ya think? No fancy components other than the Cross Max's yet.
I'll add sometype of bash guard and ditch the outer chain ring pretty soon and maybe add a single-set as well. Other than that I'm happy with the way it is. Whatch ya'll think? Not bad for a 5 dolla frame? |
