Single speed is a given but which one.I'm thinking cross since it is mostly non technical dirt road riding.any thoughts?

You're correct in that the WR is not technical but it is ruff and sandy and I would not consider it enjoyable CX riding. It's great single speed territory though. If you're going to do it in one day I would suggest a sus-post.
