| The Official "We're Heading Down to SoCal this Weekend" Post | kyezle Nov 12, 2003 2:49 PM | | Yep. Richelle and I are cruising down south for a weekend of debauchery and Magic Mountain. It's her birthday and we're gonna do a few fun things on Sunday and Monday, but Saturday is wide open. We'll be bringing the singlespeeds, and are up for whatever.
So Term, what's this I hear about a Fox Hunt? Is that happening this weekend? Or are any rides going on that we can tag along?
Talk to me, baby... |
| let's ride! Check your work email too... | Hollywood Nov 12, 2003 3:22 PM | | If I don't make it to VeloSwap I'll be around. Fox Hunt? L.A. rides? OC rides? Where ya stayin'?

| VeloSwap SF? They HAD to schedule that when I'm out of town... | kyezle Nov 12, 2003 4:12 PM | | If you do make it to the Swap meet, you should definitely bring your new rear derailler hanger bolt. Try to trade it for a custom Seven SS frame. That'd be sweet. |
| VeloSwap SF? They HAD to schedule that when I'm out of town... | SS Jerry Nov 12, 2003 9:47 PM | | If there is anything you need, I am going to Velo Swap. I can get info, pictures or what ever.
Let me know, I wish I was going to SoCal and meet up with everyone.

| Cool!... | terminaut Nov 12, 2003 3:44 PM | | The Fox Hunt is on Saturday and should be fun. There'll be some females to keep Richelle company if you guys want to come down to OC. Afterwards we can catch a quick lunch then ride again somewhere if you want... Santiago Oaks, Whiting Ranch, or even Laguna Wilderness if you want a workout.
If you're hankering for an epic type of ride, bring your lights and we'll climb San Juan Trail. |
| Did you say lights??? | Andy aka Rut Nov 12, 2003 4:19 PM | | Keep me in the loop for anything after 4pm!

| Sounds like a plan... | kyezle Nov 12, 2003 4:30 PM | | But rain in the forecast for this weekend? Wow, bad timing. Saturday looks fine though. We're up for a ride afterward, too. Not sure about epic, since Richelle doesn't have a light system, but you can throw something meaty our way, sure.
So where and when on Saturday? |
| Here's the tentative itinerary... | terminaut Nov 12, 2003 5:40 PM | | Meet at a little before 10AM at Fairview Park in Costa Mesa for the Fox Hunt. Afterwards, we could head to any number of places for lunch. Give the food a chance to digest... then go ride again! Laguna Wilderness might be a good candidate as it's close by and has some *very* fun trails. (Hey Offroadie - what time does the park close?)
In the evening there are a bunch (10+) of MTB'ers gathering for sushi at Maki Maki if you're into that and are still in OC. |
| me likey sushi... | kyezle Nov 13, 2003 11:37 AM | | a lot.
We'll see you guys around 10-ish. May even be up for sushi if time permits. Hollywood was gracious enough to open his pad for us to crash in on Saturday nite since we're planning on hitting Magic Mountain on Sunday. Considering it doesn't rain like the forecast for Sunday said, we'll be heading north to his place. But we'd like to hang out as long as we can. |
| el dub closes at sunset.... | offroadie Nov 13, 2003 12:24 PM | | which on Saturday will be at about 16:45 by my calculation. That sucks. I can't wait for Dec 22.
anyway, two hours of ride time at LCWP could be had if you got there by 2:30 or 3 pm, latest. i'll check here to see if/when you're going and Tam, i'll email you my new cell number. |
| trying to email you.... | Hollywood Nov 13, 2003 2:29 PM | | ain't workin'. 'sup?
hollywood @ singlespeed dot com |
| after you signed me up for all those | offroadie Nov 13, 2003 3:07 PM | | ghey porn email newsletters, i put you on my "blocked" list. try me at offroadie @ fooriders dot com. |
| ya'll making me homesick....sorta | xrmattaz Nov 12, 2003 4:31 PM | | Came back home to Arizona a decade ago, but useta' ride SoCal stuff wit Richard C. and the Mantis gang. Santiago/Chino Hills...things like that. Any of ya'll from that group still doing dat thing?
Just reminiscing....... |
| Term...that just makes my heart sick. | xrmattaz Nov 12, 2003 5:48 PM | | Thanks for the pics!
The climbs and hills and mountains and such here are just dandy, but something about Chino Hills State Park just makes my heart yearn.
Richard C. is the consummate nice guy, IMO. I learned alot of good stuff riding wit those guys. Man.
Gonna go back..soon. |
| Did someone say Laguna Wilderness? | offroadie Nov 12, 2003 5:06 PM | | post the time of your ride, if it's in the AW/LWCP/El Morro zone, and i'm in. unless i'm too busy drinking Stone Double Bastard. ;-) |
| Damn! | slowSSer Nov 12, 2003 4:25 PM | | I completely forgot that you were cruisin down this weekend- im a no-go for anything on saturday, as Im headed up to the big bear area to help with the fire cleanup, with weather being a possible issue.
im more than likely good for a friday night or anything on sunday- it'd be good to see you and Richelle.
cheers!

| Damn! If only I hadn't sold the Leer Jet... | Sparty Nov 13, 2003 7:05 AM | | ...I'd fly down and ride with you guys every other weekend, and fly you guys up to the rainforest for the opposite ones. One of these days, I'll get down thataway, I promise...
By the way, I'm doing a great job of working on a heavy winter coat (of blubber, that is). Mmmmmmmm... potato chips!
--Sparty
P.S. kyezle -- I'm still lovin' me Barbie shirt! |
| So you sold a Leer Jet to buy potato chips? | kyezle Nov 13, 2003 11:41 AM | | Well, if they were those Tim's Cascade Chips, it'd be a fair trade.
So anyone else up there need a BC shirt? If not, I'll spread the rest down south. The entire west coast will soon know of Barbie Camp...
Stay warm up there, Sparty! |
| Well, that and a spare tire... | Sparty Nov 13, 2003 1:06 PM | | ...for the Leer Bike.
You are welcome to use the Disciples of Dirt and EpicRider listservs to promote the sale of your remaining BC shirts, Kyle. I'd offer to do if for you but my email seems to be down at the moment.
If they don't all go, remember they make great holiday gifts.
