I'm out of the loop, where did you get the Orange Surly? Are they offering that color or did you get it repainted?

I love the orange and silver. Especially the Eno cranks on that bike. My eyes are turning green with jealousy.

Nice ride.

Montareernesto from Wisconsin

Unfortunately, this bike will have to use a Soulcraft tensioner...why? the BB shell is too wide, needing the longest spindle known to man, and the ENO will not be able to align right. This is a spare bike that needs to be finished.
EBB that sucker @ Spicer cycles! nmrider8

Where did you find the parts to change the headset to 1 1/8". I have that same frame that needs some TLC. Thanks.

That Montare is one of the best climbing bikes ever made. I loved the way mine handled. But that design is prone to seat tube breakage just below the chainstays. Perhaps that frame is a later one, supposedly they reinforced the seat tube. Every Montare my shop sold broke.

Might be better to just hang the frame as art.

The favorite of my metal bike children, the Gunnar Rock Hound. Most baddest of all steel freames. it's gnome-proof, and it likes milfs.
Yeah, butSSO

milfs like rigid forks.

I'm sure milfs like rigid forks, but this bike likes milfs.

of the sites you have made available in these two postings. Cheers.
32x18 works good in my RockHound.nalax
Nov 14, 2003 9:30 PM
It worked well with the Singleator too but I tried the 32x18 with a broken in chain and it's a perfect fit. Oh yeah, the frame is a '98 and I don't know if they kept the same chainstay length after they spaced the stays farther apart for the newer ones.
Who doesn't? nmFast Eddy
