| re: johnny rotten | Galactic Pilot Jan 15, 2004 2:08 PM | | The Johnny Rotten rocks. I bought mine in 1999, and am still riding it. Well at least an incarnation of it. Dented my top tube badly when I tossed it in a massive pile up at the Intergalactic Singlespeed Championships, but I loved Johnny so much I sent it to the Rock Lobster folks and they replaced the top tube (identical) for free.
What to say? It rides like a big BMX bike, climbs tremendously and is an all around singletrack machine. I've owned a bunch of top notch geared bikes - Yeti ARC, Moots Rigor Mootis, Indy Fab Deluxe - and the Ionic blows them all out of the water. It's steel, and the orange color prevents you from getting shot at during hunting season.
I got mine set up with the PIMPY set up sold by Ionic, but also a Fat City Big One Inch rigid fork. A buddy of mine rides one with a Spicer Ti rigid fork and loves it too.
Hope that helps. I have a bunch of info on my website at offcamber.com if you poke around a bit.
Cheers and good luck! |
