Maguras vs. V-brakes (read post)(2 posts)

Maguras vs. V-brakes (read post)Jeff M.

I have both one set of Magura HS-11's with tektro boosters and one set of V-brakes (XT levers with avid 20 calipers), neither seem to hold well enough so I'm thinking of upgrading. The question is should I...

a)sell the maguras and the avids and with the money buy better calipers (like XTR) and carbon boosters (see my post below)

or

b)ditch the V's and buy better levers for the Maguras, either HS-33 levers or some aftermarket one's (Kule, Rb, etc.)

so what would result in a better set-up? Any suggestions?
Thanks

-Jeff

Put the V's on the front. How much power do you need up front? I've found that simple V's are more than enough up front.

Get an RB Designs lever, and use your HS11 slaves on the back, with some fancy ass pads. Personally I like the Montys. Have you ever used a RB lever? Wow! Mega power, really comfy, and very cool looking. There is a little flex from the carbon perch, but its still got more power than anything else out there. Combined with a carbon booster, and its going to look pretty cool too!
