What set up should I go for?

1. HS33
Plazmatic crm pads
MDH RB design brake booster (www.rbdesign.sk/en/en_index.htm)
cost: $225 (£150)

2. lx parallel brakes (no cost; already have)
flak jacket cables (or other)
V1 RBdesign booster
plazmatic CRV pads (gonna have to import them from US to UK)
COST: $135 (£90)

I am just looking for lockup!

I already have the lx brakes set up with planet x stickypads, which are ok. Should I make the switch? I will also need to get hold of some cable cutters which I amy have to buy which also adds to the cost of the second set up.

Please give feedback! pros, cons.

Keep your lx. V-brakes are more reliable and harder to break than hydraulics, plus they work better in my opinion. They are less into the "flashy hype fashion etc" of trials tho.

Check out my post lower down about putting skateboard griptape on your rim. It locks and stays there. If you don't care much about modulation you might want to try it. I wouldn't do the plaz pads with it though, since they're a soft compound and would probably just get ground to dust in a few hours. For $5 with your current brakes you'd probably get all the power you need.

as for the tool, i just use normal pliers (the cutter bit on them) to cut cables (outer & inner), so u really dont need to buy this. just try not to squish the outer when u do it.
