Does anyone know how many engagement points profile hubs have? Also, how durable are they and is the warrenty good?

Thanks

OK, im pretty sure these babies have 48 engagement points. As for durability, i dont know sorry.
But, looking at that pic, I reckon it uses a pawl and ratchet system. If it has 48 teeth in the ratchet, they'll be too small for trials use and will crack. If it has 24 and two rows of offset pawls (like in a Goldtec hub), then i dont think it will be strong enough either as it will only have 2 pawls engaging at any one time. Just my theory... anyone else?!

48 engagement points and they are pretty durable. I wouldn't say that they are more so than a King, but certainly durable for the majority of riders out there.

don't really know about warranty, but they shouldn't give you much hassle. They are also quite heavy which is something to take into consideration

My friend rides this and he loves it. I think it is really heavy but it is very strong- lots of engagement points. I would say it is heavier but more durable than a king- and cheaper. I'll stick with my hope hubs :)

well i used a profile for a while and they have super engagement. verrrry close to a king i say. and the loudest ratchet out there. heavy but don't feel the weight as much as you think cuz of the engagement. not the strongest hub. i stripped out the ring that all the teeth are machined out of. and i don't mean stripped out as in i wore off all the little aluminum teeth i mean that whole ring stripped out from the rest of the hub. shit wrranty cuz its only 1 year. but good customer service. helpful guys and they have a great crash replacement after the hub is broken so you can replace the parts for a pretty good price

Don't know if it is more durable than a king- I know some pro riders who won't ride kings because they are not durable enough for them. However I have heard of someone else stripping their profile but it was waranteed...Until my hope hub blows up I will swear by it- no skips or troubles in exactly a year and I haven't opened her up once.

well I have one good reason without even looking at this from a design standpoint to believe Kings are stronger, the Dman. The guy has had both hubs, guess which one he has had better luck with? From what I remember he has broken both hubs, but the king took a few months compared to a few days or week that it took for his Profile to blow (repeatedly).

When viewed by my amateur design perspective, the kings still kick the profiles.

It all comes down to being decently smooth, if you get to that point you can pretty much run any hub without problem. If you aren't, either the king or profile should work fine for you. If you are the Dman, well he's happy with King

Oh and I bet that the pro's name you are referring to rhymes with Heff, just a hunch :)
