I was in denver about a year and a half ago and it looked pretty sweet for riding. Saw alot of promising urban stuff. Is it any good?

the urban is a complete kick in the head. the majority of the stuff is stair gaps but there is the occasional 5 inch wide wall. The police and security guards are everywherre and make riding a pain in the ass

While I don't know if a kick in the head is a good or bad thing (I'm assuming its a bad thing :) )- I can say that denver is kind of lame. Skyline park (in evolve) is very good and fun to ride but its urban which after a while will always get boring. It's a good place to ride at once or twice every couple of months but if I lived there I would look elsewhere to ride. Boulder is the best place I have ever found for people who like urban stuff because there is a lot of natural stuff in it too (It is in evolve also- when the gay guy goes "this is not a playground"). However the "scene" is fantastic in colorado. Denver has a half dozen sport level riders who are young and just getting into it. Boulder and fort collins both have 3-4 expert lever riders and a slew of sport and beginner level riders along with 3 pros (Dan drain, brian maier-spelled wrong, matt robinson- though dan is moving..). All three of these cities are within an hour and half radius of each other (well...if i'm driving :P). There is also tons of natural terrain all over colorado and we have 5+ big comps a year. This upcoming season- 2002- we should be around 10+ comps because there was a big turn out from the neato comps in 2001 and promotors want trials at their venues. Ok its almost 3am, I drove 950 miles today (16 hours- ew!) and can't wait to ride tomorrow!
