I swear, once I started doing trials... (8 posts)
| I swear, once I started doing trials... | Beau Oct 19, 2003 6:29 PM | | my trail riding improved my about 90%, Anybody else noticed this in their riding?? I think it is probably one of the best ways to train for riding the tech stuff. Just wondering if anyone else has felt this way. Oh yeah, I also try to have a little trials session before every ride, it seems to get me in the ZONE before I ride. |

Better balance and better technical skills make the rides that much more fun. Plus, I swear my leg muscles have have gotten stronger from trials. I can climb better and with a harder gear than I ever could. |

Basically, I find my bike smaller since I started trials. |

| Yup, It is a very cool feeling!!! nm | DCDrew Nov 4, 2003 11:26 AM | | How do you get into trials? Do the trails y'all ride have course near them, or do you just find some stumps and boulders? How does a beginner start...I can trackstand for, like, 2 seconds...? |

A friend and I have began riding urban and semi-trialsish stuff lately, I find it gives more confidence on the trails when I get into situations I would normally not try to ride through. |
| trials helps lots... | carlos82 Dec 23, 2003 11:06 PM | | i have been a social trials rider for a few years now and the crossovers to other disciplines (ie dh, xc and urban)is quite amazing. the big drops and bunnyhops in the trials format desensitizes you to these obstacles when doing dh etc. on of the things my friends noticed is that i have a very fast holeshot (ie fast start out of a gate), i atrribute this to the nature of trials, static and very powerful movements combined with precision and timing. trials for me really is the ultimate mental challenge relying on not only big balls but careful and timed calculations.... |
