| Breaking into Trials | Kev-o Nov 26, 2003 9:37 AM | | I'm and avid trail rider, and I'm interested in trials riding. I would like buy or build a 26inch wheel bike suitable for trials and urbanesqe type riding... maybe even some jumping. I know the dedicated trials bike is usually rigid, but I'm thinking I want some suspension in the fork. Can someone give me a rundown on what makes a good bike... some names of frames and parts?
Wheels?
Stem / Bars?
Cranks?
Etc.
Thanks |

Anyway there are TONS of sites out there that you can read up on trials frames and components. Here are a couple:
http://www.trials-online.com
http://www.trialsin.com
http://www.observedtrials.net
http://biketrials.com
http://biketrials.com/topsites/index.shtml
Many of the above will have an FAQ that can give you an idea of what is out there and why a product is good or bad for trials.
Also google is a good resource.
On-line retailers are good too
webcyclery is a good place to start looking at prices there are others too but i don't remember them so google.
as for strong trials Frame and component companies:
Brisa
Planet X
Monty
ZOO
are just a tip of the ice burg
If you got the cash many trials riders prefer king rear hubs for quick engagement.
But you'll find out this and more when you start reading the FAQs |
