Has anyone been running an xtr rear der on their switchblade? The top of my derailleur cage keeps hitting the horst link, thus keeping it from making it to the 2 smallest cogs. Anyone else run into this problem? How would I adjust the deraileur to keep it from happening?

OK, I have a Motolite, not a Switchblade, but it's got the same rear end as a Switchblade in 4.5 mode. I've had lots of trouble running 9-speed XTR rear deraillers with a 12-34 XTR cassette. I could never get enough b-tension, the derailler hits the link, and the deraillers kept busting internally. I switched to an older XT 8-speed rear derailler (with the pulleys from my 9-speed XTR) and no more trouble.

I run XTR with 12-34 no problem
What I do is remove the B tension screw and thread it in the other way
that will push the der out far enough from the cogs

standard thing with a Horst link bike
Ahhh... Thank you Charles!JBone

That did the trick! Quick question, is it possible to order a longer B tension screw?

cool
I would just go to a hardware store and buy a Stainless Steel bolt that matches... shouldn't be a big deal
