| What bike to buy? Fisher? Specialized? Santa Cruz? Giant? | westcoast838 Aug 30, 2001 12:05 PM | | Hi,
I'm looking to get a full suspension bike and would appreciate any feedback? I will use this bike for everything....I've been to a bunch of bike shops and have tried the following: Gary Fisher Sugar 2, Specialized FSR XC Comp, Santa Cruz Superlight? Giant NSR? - They all ride great, I would appreciate any feedback or insights on why I should buy one over the other...
thanks in advance,

I think I made the right choice for my riding. I think the Superlight has a better built frame. It climbs as good as the others you mentioned, but the 4" in the rear kicks on the downhill. Of course, my friends are tickled with there bikes. My friend with the Sugar has had a few frame related problems, but that was a first year model. I rode a Sugar 3+ today around a parking lot, and I thought it bobbed a lot in the 4" mode, but the Black on the front was sweet. Kapusta |

I am happy with my choice. I have never had a problem with any Specialized bikes I've owned. For the money,I felt that the Specialized was the most versatile for quick technical riding and xc racing. The GF Sugars geometry just didn't feel right to me. |
