| Good Deal on a Frame? | Tylerman Aug 31, 2001 3:59 AM | | JensonUSA is clearing out some 99 Jamis Komodo frames for a hell of a price ($185.00 I've been watching them drop for a couple months) and I am wondering if I should bother getting one. I have a hardtail already (Kona Blast) which has served me well but is far from top-o-the-line, and I think it would be fun to build up a decent XC bike. It's an Easton Elite frame, much lighter than my Kona, but the Kona has such low end components that they wouldn't be worth swapping over, which means an entire new "gruppo" (what a stupid word) + fork, seat, pedals etc... The reviews on it seem positive, what's the general impression of buying and building an entirely unneccesary frame into new bike? Hell, is this even a good deal for an Easton frame? |
