New Brodie FS XC Bike! Opinions on the Design?(5 posts)

New Brodie FS XC Bike! Opinions on the Design?Twiggy
Aug 31, 2001 3:47 PM
I'm thinking about getting a new FS bike next year, and conveniently, my favorite bike company; Brodie, is coming out with one next year. Its got a scandium front triangle and 3-4 inches (adjustable) in the rear, bearings at most of the pivots. Supposedly its gonna be pretty light around 5 lbs. Everything sounds good, but I got this pic of it from a secret source and I was wondering what you people think of this design, cause I dunno if its any good or not. Its very similar to a Jamis Dakkar or a Psycle Works Wild Hare. Thanks!

PS-sorry the pic sucks, I had to convert it from bmp to jpg and it screwed it up!
Can someone please respond ? nmTwiggy

The design is a proven one that has been around for a long time.
It looks like it uses a chainstay pivot in the rear(I can't see
too clearly). The Scandium front end should keep it light.Any
price info? Most people will have to wait until the production
models come out to see how it rides and handles before passing
judgement or giving out opinions.

until you see it in person. Try it out. I recently fell in love with a Brodie, but the design is faulty, IMHO. Great bikes but you need to ride them and understand the design better. That, I know, is not much help, but you asked, Jim

to both you an Quattro, I really appreciate it. I wrote another thank-you reply earlier but I think I hit the wrong button and it didn't post. oh well! ANyways, yeah I will wait and ride it in person before I commit, thanks to your advice. Which Brodie Bike did you like and how was it faulty? Thanks! Later
