Schwinn Rocket 88 stage 4 frame(3 posts)

Schwinn Rocket 88 stage 4 frameTrek Racer X

I was wondering if this is a good frame to buy for $325.00? Also, is this a heavy bike? Could this be used for XC racing or just for trail riding? I'd like to build it under 25 or so pounds, and would I be able to do so, without going overboard in the lightweight parts pick?
I've heard good review on the Rocket 88, but those were on the stage 1, and 2. Would the stage 4 have different gussets, welds, and material use? (Other than the type of shock it has. I'll eventually up grade that to a Fox Float.)

Thanks

$325 not a good price for the frame. Costco was selling the complete Stage 4's for $399.

I have a rocket 88 stage one and I love it. It is very light weight and is a great all around full sus bike. I would go with a cane creek AD -12 though for your shock it blows that fox away.
My Schwinn is built out of 7000 series aluminum . I would check to make sure that the stage 4 is...
keep on riding!
