| Klein Bikes | Pallyo Jan 12, 2002 7:09 AM | | Anybody own a "Adept race disc" or "Attitude comp disc" from Klein cause I'm thinking about getting one of these. |
| Adept Race Disc | Dale Jan 12, 2002 9:22 AM | | I've got the Adept Race Disc and love it, anything in particular you'd like to know? |
| Adept Race Disc | Pallyo Jan 12, 2002 5:36 PM | | What did you end up paying for that sweet ride? How's the front fork and decals holding out? I heard some people complain about oil leaking from the manitou and the"BLACK" logo peeling off... |
| Adept Race Disc | Dale Jan 13, 2002 3:27 PM | | I've got the 2001, paid 1899.00 for it. It came with the Manitou SX-R. Pretty decent fork but a little flexy. I don't have any experience with the Back fork. |
| Adept Race Disc | Sharpie Jan 13, 2002 9:35 AM | | Have you had any problems with vibrations transmitted through the seatstays? Apparently the 2002 Adept Race Discs are coming with some sort of bolt on torsion arm to stop this. |
| Adept Race Disc | Dale Jan 13, 2002 3:29 PM | | Hmmm...that sounds a lot like the problem the Fuels had. I think they came up with some adapter to solve it. I've not had any vibration problem on my 2001 model. |
| Decals? | Mossy Jan 14, 2002 8:51 AM | | Not that that should be a primary concern in any bike purchase, but Kleins do NOT have conventional decals -- they're actually painted ("Debossed") on the frame. I have a non-disc 2001 Adept Race and love it. The paint is holding up well on the main tubes, some minor chipping near the BB shell and chainstay. No big deal, its a mtn bike for chrissake! The ride is lively, and responsive. Despite the suspension, which works very well, it does have a very "connected to the ground" feel which I havent found in frames with more travel. The Fuels and Sugars have a similar feel... For my money, its the best FS/XC Ive tried, though I havent ridden many exotics. (turners, ells, titus, etc..) |
