| Rocky Mt Slayer Sizing? | quattroluvr Jan 12, 2002 9:29 PM | | Hi,
Just making sure of a sizing regards a used Slayer, they come in 18" and 19.5" apparently. I'm 5'11", 225lbs, inseam of 32" and ride mostly XC.
Any opinions on suitability of the two sizes?

| re: Rocky Mt Slayer Sizing? | Thantos Jan 14, 2002 11:57 AM | | It's hard to give an absolute answer because everybody has a different body type. Some have long legs and a short torso, other have longer arms and short legs, etc. I am a little over 6'2" and I ride a 20.5 Rocky Mountain Instinct. I find that RM's tend to be a little shorter in the top tube compared to some other manufacturers. My hard tail (not a RM) is only 19 inches, so you can't assume that one size of frame will fit you accross all frame types and manufactureres.
The only way you can be sure of course is to ride both bikes and play with various handle bar/stem combo's. It can be a tedious process, but in the end it beats having a bike that isn't properly sized.
Good Luck. |
| re: Rocky Mt Slayer Sizing? | mtnbikerchk Jan 14, 2002 12:43 PM | | I'm 5'2" and they only had a 15 in stock for me to try (Element Race) and it was absolutely too small (and too much work would need to be done to change it) so we opted for the 16.5. It's a hair to big, but I'm dealing with it.
Bottom line - if you can, try them first and go with what feels better. |
| Go for the 18" | JBone Jan 14, 2002 5:03 PM | | They sell them at my friends shop, and Ive goofed around on them extensively. Im the same size as you except in weight, and the 18 would fit you better of the two, if not a 17. |
