Wow, I never thought anyone would ask
I have a '99 Nitro, which came with a z4 coil, full lx, and velociraptor tires. I'm in Vancouver by the way. I HATED the stock tires, which i switched out to a 2.35 Kenda rear and 2.4 motoraptor front, which i like. I trashed the rear rim so put on a Rhyno Lite. Added stem and toptube pads, downhill riser, shorter stem, and recently when my lx shifters died i went to 8 speed gripshifters. Added a bash guard. Oh yeah and aggresive flat pedals too...

Thats all the changes I think... but anyway the bike rides really well. It's solid, and the way i have it set up it takes everything from long xc to lite shore and some drops. don't let all the changes i've made scare you, i've ridden hard for 2 years and most of the thing works fine. As an entry level bike it's good, you can find out what kind of thing you like best and slightly modify the bike to do it. This thing rips on technical singletrack (not too steep). The geometry is more xc oriented, as is the bar, stem, wheels, and fork. I found it to be a good ride to start, but i've outgrown it. to big to do any serious freeriding on, i'm not fond of the lx rim brakes (need disks) and the fork, although plush, doesn't have the travel i need (want a fully too). If you do mostly xc you should love it; it's been loyal to me so far. Especially if you live in canada and will get a good deal. I paid 1100 for mine on closeout =). Hmm i just checked the specs on this year's model... I don't think i would have paid what i did considering those specs... that fork is no match for the marzocchi on mine, and they've downgraded from lx to deore. At this level you can get good value if you shop around. Try Rocky Mountain, Giant, Jamis, and Devinci if you're looking for good value in Canada. Hope this helped.
