| FS bike for a large rider | DownhillSteve Apr 12, 2002 1:24 PM | | Hey all,
I have a friend who's about 230 and he's looking at FS bikes. Any recommendations for bikes that can handle that weight with ease?

| Probably | JimC Apr 12, 2002 3:22 PM | | have a look at a Santa Cruz Bullit. Try also Intense Uzzi, Titus QuasiMoto. I'm sure there are more, but these will get him started, and will not break under his weight. Jim |
| re: FS bike for a large rider | Sci Teach Apr 13, 2002 12:55 PM | | I've ridden my bikes during my new FS quest, I'm a 205 lb rider, getting on in years....
Kona Bear....good Bike, I didn't like the way I was put in the cockpit....
Specialized Enduro....again, nice bike...very ugly.....component spec could be better....love the rear susp....rode well
But....I ended up with the Giant AC Air....comfortable cockpit position, great ride, fully active suspension, lots of travel, GREAT component spec...Doesn't weigh a ton (mine is 30lb +/-) and is friggin' great fun to ride! DO yourself a favor and test ride one of these! |

I also think that the the specialized enduro frames are pretty strong, Mountain cycle is strong as well. These are good big company bicycles. The higher end bicycles that JimC recomended also are good for big guys.
