| Rocky Mountain Fusion | TEMPESTboy Aug 5, 2002 6:26 PM | | I'm seriously considering to get this bike, anybody have any problems with it? Any reason why I should get it over other bikes? It's $750 Canadian. I am gonna mostly ride some light trails, not too many serious climbs or descents. Thanks |
| re: Rocky Mountain Fusion | steel Aug 6, 2002 9:51 AM | | if you buy fusion, the easton frame and RM brand are the two only worth for $750CDN. Their components are crap. RM builds its own wheel. |
| re: Rocky Mountain Fusion (any other bikes under 800 cdn??) | TEMPESTboy Aug 6, 2002 10:08 AM | | I know the components aren't the greatest, but the frame is really nice. I can easily replace the components later, and I'm definately going to replace the fork. Did you mean the RM components were crap? I'm thinking the Acera (and Deore) will do fine for now, I don't exactly have a lot of money right now. Any other suggestions for around under $800 Canadian?? |
| re: Rocky Mountain Fusion (any other bikes under 800 cdn??) | steel Aug 7, 2002 5:49 PM | | replacing components would be more expensive than just buy a new bike.
I meant low-end shimano are crap. i hate ez-fire shift lever.
I second Kona Lava Dome. My wife has their 2000 model. It has very sweet steel feel.
Thine Blue Line used to make steel frame last year. i dont' know whether they will come back next year. www.silentsports.com
If you live in GTA, check them out.
i agree with you. Easton tubing is very refine. |
| re: Rocky Mountain Fusion | dirttoropedo Aug 6, 2002 12:52 PM | | Consider a Kona Nunu or a Lava Dome - I think they are a much better deal than the Rocky anyday. Plus you have the option of a steel frame, which is much more compliant than aluminum. Wait until they go on sale and you'll get one for under 80 cdn. |
| Thanks, I was looking at Kona's too............nm | TEMPESTboy Aug 6, 2002 3:28 PM | | |
