|   Turner XCE - decal colors? | loop
Nov 23, 2002 5:48 PM | | Was going through some of the previous posts about XCEs and noticed that some of the blue frames have the Turner logo in black, some in chrome (or maybe white?). What decides the logo color?
I know, it's a pointless question, but I have a blue one on order and wondered exactly what it will look like. |

Nov 24, 2002 12:14 AM | | They used to be solids, the decal color depending on the frame color. Earlier this year they used mainly a solid silver, then went to a really cool wide-silver-bordered black, and most recently to an extremely thin-silver-bordered black. The newest looks kinda dorky, as if they messed up on the decal- like they meant for the border to be bigger, but couln't get the point across to the manufacturer. Kinda like Spinal Tap's Stone-henge, if you catch my meaning. The previous generation with the wider silver and black was way cool. By girlfriend's XCE has the newest version and on her black frame the decal is almost invisible- black on black with only the faintest hint of a silver outline. Kinda stealth, but you have to press your nose up agains the tubes to read the brand. Turner sent me some of the newest decals (with the faint silver border) to redo my older solid silver, but after seeing the new decals, I changed my mind. If the frame is being built now, you will most likely get the new, sliver-silver bordered black.
You will LOVE your new bike!
Romic or no? I just hefted a romic in one hand and a vanilla rc in the other and was surprised how much heavier the romic was.

Nov 24, 2002 5:06 PM | | Decided to go with the standard Fox RC in the rear. From what I have read, it sounds like the Fox will be more supple than the Romic and that the frame performs great with the Fox.
Really looking forward to getting the bike. I should have the frame in hand in mid-December. |

Nov 24, 2002 11:21 PM | | I got my 02 in July.My bike is the charcoal metalic blue.Its really classy looking and sort of conservative(like me).Unlike alot of high end bikes,theres only 2 stickers on the bike.Nice and clean until you have to get it all dirty.Call Turner.They would probably put anything you want on if they have it.You will love your bike.I hope you dont suffer too much waiting.Just buy a good mop to clean up all your drool while you wait. |
