Good old Clydesdale Salty porn...It's about time!fattirewilly

Well my little clydesdale XC/Trail bike project started about a year ago. Thought I'd finally post a pic of it (hope it works).

It would appear that I'm having difficulties...:( &$%$#$

My pic 640 pix wide. Could that have something to do with it? Yes I've read the tutorial.
If I may...Duckman

I don't suppose you "pasted the red letters in the box" ....fattirewilly

under the text. I tried several times and just pasted the link in the text box. Uh, what did you do? Thanks by the way.

The extra tube on the 21" frame is a little unique, but it makes for a lot of standover clearance.

Is it me or do the wheels look ovaled, making the bike look taller than it should. What a crap picture (low resolution?). I'll have try this again sometime...maybe another year or so.

This isn't working either...$%&$ beer please!
The link below the text box doesn't work right nowDuckman

I don't use that box when posting multi pics, as i copy-paste the link addresses directly into the text box just under the appropiate text referencing the pic that then would show just below said text. I type in HTP commands at each end of the pasted address which does the same thing the box does. but it allows me to post 1 or 30 pics in one post. Once i saw the link is not live anymore, I use this same process the post just one pic when needed.

Depending on what format the pic was saved on your pc, and the how and where it was placed on the net, can..and will destort a given pic..not unlike a funhouse mirror..sorta kinda. MS Photodraw does this for instance depending how I format the pic.

I make a living staring deeeeep into these idiot boxes all day long. The humanity.

Nice bike buy the way. Enjoy

Looks similar to mine. Is that the 7" ht? Is that a 5" fork? I just got a Romic for mine but haven't been able to ride it yet.
HT ect.....fattirewilly
Mar 11, 2003 6:06 AM
HT is stock size 6.25" Fork is 4"...Everything looks taller cause the pic is distorted. Measure the wheels with a piece of paper on the screen and you'll see what I mean.

Let me know how you like the Romic. I'm curious about the benefit to weight ratio. I'm at a respectable 28.75 pounds right now with my fox air.
Romic weighed 1 lb more than Fox Float R but feels very plushslowideclyde

I should have a chance to ride it tomorrow.
Me too.Troll

Nice. Looks just like the custom one I had built except for the color(superdust).Only problem after 2-1/2 yrs. mine cracked in the top tube and the rear chainstay. So now I am getting ready for another custom built Salty. Ventana is being very good to me on a replacement cost so no complaints here.
I like the red. I may go with the red or blue this time.

I guess I'm a small fry at 6'4". A broken Ventana? Don't hear about one of those everyday!

It's their stock 21" size (supposedly). Top tub is 24 1/4". Does your custom have a serial number or not? Some custom builders don't put serial #s on the frame since each custom would be #000 0001. I bought my frame used ($1,300) from a guy who claimed to have riden it 3 times (I believed the 3 time thing after receiving the frame). Seller swore it was stock, but can't seem to reconsile some of my measurements with the stock measurements.
your measurements seem different than Ventana's?slowideclyde

Which measurements? I really don't care too much about most measurements other than tt. I have a custom 21", but can't see how my effective tt is as long as specified. I demoed a 19" and it sure felt like the 19" cockpit was just as long if not longer. Mine just handles a little quicker than I'd like, even since I added a 125mm Vanilla. I've gone between a 120 and 130mm stem so it's not like I'm using a short stem. I think I'll try a lay back post, although I'm not sure it's the answer since the st angle is already so slack. I should've stuck with the stock tt length but the demo felt so good I thought I'd add a little tt and fall between the 19 and 21" tt lengths. It is, nonetheless, a wonderful bike.
Does your custom Ventana have a serial #?-nmfattirewilly

TT comes up 1/4" to 1/2" short over stock measurements. This is also reflected in the wheelbase on my 21" with a 4" 2002 Marathon. ST, HT, and CS all match stock exactly.
