I was about to tell you to go with the Raleigh because I have 2 Raleighs and at first glance it has some better components. I started reading some reviews here on mtbr and it looks like we have ourselves a winner. The Giant has a good mix of economical, but reliable components and good stuff where it counts (rear derailleur). The main reason I dont recommend the Raleigh is the POS fork it comes with. The Judy TT is the biggest pile of junk rockshox has made. It weighs 5 freakin lbs alone, yet it is very weak and flimsy side to side and front to back. Check the reviews yourself, Giant is 4.91 out of 5 and Raleigh is 3.5.

i haven't ridden the raleigh but i do own a giant yukon 2002 and my next door neighbour has a 2003 one. I'd say the yukon is great but u might want to thiink about upgrading to a stiffer spring in the shock. Other than that it's great. The stiffer spring could even be free before you leave the store.
