Chamuco Question: 6" fork/6" rear or 5" fork/6" rear(3 posts)

Chamuco Question: 6" fork/6" rear or 5" fork/6" rearHurniator

I'm getting a chamuco, and am trying to decide how much fork to put up front. I also posted this on downhill/freeride, and thought it would be interesting to see how the responses differ. The rear has 6" travel. I'm thinking I'll put a 150mm z-1 FR up front. That will give me a 68-degree HT angle.

Does that make sense, or should I stick with 5" up front? It will be my only bike, so I want versatility: freeride, trail riding, epic xc, urban, whatever.

and i'd like to try one on my Chamuco (i've got a 125mm Fox on there now). Unfortunately Marzocchi seems to keep pushing the delivery date on that it. Last I heard was end of this month. Make sure you can actually get your hands on one.

Even with 5" up front, the Chamuco leans more towards freeride than XC/trailriding. If the Chamuco was my only bike, I wouldn't put a 6" fork on there. Since I have a singlespeed as well and i'm finally feeling fit enough to take on the big climbs with only one gear, i'm considering a 6" fork for mine in the near future.
