| Yep, it worked ! Nice shots | Kpicha Mar 12, 2003 3:49 AM | | Your first two pictures make it look like the bike is metallic silver but the last one is clearly polished. Either way, its a nice looking ride.
That's some high rise stem. Do you find the steering to be floppy at all? I tried a 15 deg. rise stem once and although, it was more comfortable, the steering became too floppy for me.
Have you been able to take it out for a ride yet?
Cheers,
Kristina |
| stay with this stem? | bxex Mar 12, 2003 4:51 AM | | I am not shure if I will stay with this stem, but since I am rather tall (1.95 meter), have long legs its pretty comfortable for my back (which is 44 soon).
As soon as my bank acount has recovered I plan to switch to a complete front/rear disc brake. Maybe Hope M4 & might try a lower stem too.
Around the BB the frame is very stiff. The suspension is excellent, the fork is in harmony with rear. I did ride some densely root covered trails recently: the bike is perfect - my fault was beeing somewhat anxious.
I would like to try a 900# spring for the romic but there is no aftermarket for Romic shocks in the moment apparently? |
| Yep, it worked ! Nice shots | Kpicha Mar 12, 2003 4:57 AM | | Do you have to buy the whole shock just for a different spring?! I'm in trouble then b/c I was told I'll need a 700 spring. I don't know what comes on the 15" but I'm sure its not a 700. Or did you mean no aftermarket springs? Even so, if that's the case, I'm in trouble anyway. |
| Yep, it worked ! Nice shots | bxex Mar 12, 2003 5:04 AM | | I think single springs will be available sometime in Europe. The guys at www.suspensioncenter.ch (they reprecent Romic in Europe) told me Romic is bussy with producing for OEM currently. |
| custom geometry? | fullsuspfuture Mar 12, 2003 11:46 AM | | Looks very nice, especially your second picture is so much at right angles... you can almost measure the bike...
What spring did it come with? (are you looking to make the ride softer or harder?)
Did you get custom geometry with your bike (normal top tube length? or shorter top tube length)?
thanks and have fun. |
| Looks like a silver front end w/ a polished rear section... | wfl3 Mar 12, 2003 6:52 AM | | ...just like my friend received last week. Very nice looking. |
| Dude..what is up with that seat angle, and 86 that stem | Yowser Mar 12, 2003 6:48 PM | | PLEASE!!!!
Hold a level to that seat Man, that looks really painful. And, what's up with that stem. That's a h#%^ of alot more then 15 degrees.
PLEASE seek help ASAP. |
| He is about 6'5". Let him set it up how he wants. Sheesh. nm | Tscheezy Mar 12, 2003 6:52 PM | | |
| Come on...not on a Turner....get a Murry for this | Yowser Mar 12, 2003 6:59 PM | | Don't lead the dude on. You know it ..I know it...something just ain't right here.
Get some help with a proper fit before you really ride the rig.
Just answer me this...would you ride a bike that's set up like this? Regardless of size, he needs a bigger frame...or something...PLEASE...Ohhh my god...look at that seat angle and the rise of that stem. |
| I wouldn't ride it, but then I am 6" shorter than he is... | Tscheezy Mar 12, 2003 7:36 PM | | it is a 21" frame, which is about as big as they make in fullies. It must be tough finding any bike to fit short of going custom when you are as tall as him. If it isn't going to cause structural damage, and it is comfortable for him and makes him happy, I guess I still don't see any problem. Think of it as the nicest comfort bike on the trail.

| Dude..what is up with that seat angle, and 86 that stem | bxex Mar 12, 2003 10:22 PM | | that seat angle is corrected in the meantime. I forgot to set it up correctly for the first ride. Stem & saddle were mounted to a hardtail previously |

| that frame is tooooo small for you! | Yowser Mar 12, 2003 6:53 PM | | If you're seat is at that angle, and if you need that high of an angle stem...GET a BIGGER frame dude! |
| that frame is tooooo small for you! | bxex Mar 12, 2003 10:58 PM | | the seat angle is adjusted properly now (horicontal). see my post above.
Month bevore I ordered the frame in january via internet email order, I was in contact with the local Turner-import-LBS. they told me 21" is fine for me & I testrode a 19" O2. I asked about a larger than 21" frame but had no support on this idea from him. My impression is, he was not interested in selling a custom sized frame.
Imagine there is a frame sized 22" or 23". I assume the wheel-base well be longer. Does this have positiv influence on the bikes handling?
I am not shure if I stay with the stem. I took it from another bike too. What do you think? |
