| K2 Razorback 3 vs Hollowpoint Sport | Casper69 Jun 12, 2003 1:38 AM | | I currently own a 2003 K2 Razorback 3, which I've upgraded to have Avid Disks, Psylo XC forks, RaceFace Dues stem, RaceFace riser bars and Sun Rhino Lite wheels. It's my first full suspension bike coming from a hardtail, so I thought the 3in of travel would be fine. I'm now thinking I might like a bit more. I'm just into XC/trail riding, and don't really NEED to get a new bike, but with the deals on Hollowpoints at the moment, I'm wondering if I should sell my K2 and get a Hollowpoint Sport or Expert. The Expert may be a bit out of my price range, would it be that bad to go fo the Sport? I see almost everyone that has posted a review has ridden the Expert. I'm 6ft, 285lbs, and ride sandy, single track with a lot of roots, and am looking at getting into a few small jumps and drops. Nothing over 3ft.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Please also note I don't live in the States, so I would be buying the Hollowpoint through mail order. |

At 285 pounds, the Sport may be the better choice because it's now coming with the Fox Vanilla coil shock (not the AD5 shown on their website). You'd have to pressurize an air shock to over 300psi to get proper sag. Other than the shock choice (and the Ti fasteners on the Team) the frames are the same.
