| New Bike??? | Agressor Jun 12, 2003 9:20 PM | | hey everyone as of now i ride a GT agressor with SrSuntour shox i'm contemplating getting a new bike later this summer but i'm not sure if i should go that route or just upgrade my current bike. i dont feel real comfortable droping off anything over 6' on my Aggressor, it could just be a mental thing so if you have any tips on that aspect that would be great, my forks just feel way to soft for that sort of drop
well thanx for all the help in advance |

| Have you bothered... | fred³ Jun 13, 2003 3:01 AM | | to check to see what type of riding the bike was designed for? It wasn't drops. It certainly wasn't drops of 3 feet much less 6ft. If you'll do some research you'll notice it's an entry level mountain bike with low cost components which among other things include the fork. Riding trails are about the extent of it's design capabilities.
If you're planning on freeriding and doing large drops(yeah 6ft. is considered large to most of us) then break out the wallet, do some research and product testing. Luck. |
| i've tried | Agressor Jun 13, 2003 9:05 AM | | thanks for the info fred, i have tried but i haven't been able to find anything on the aggressor i've been trying to find stuff for a long time but have come up empty handed.

| Here are 63 reviews to read | JimC. Jun 13, 2003 12:35 PM | | your bike is entry level, and designed for light trail and city riding. No hucking, although you can try, but risk injury.
Have a look at a good basic HT for that type of riding, I don't know where you are but here's a pic of what I think you should get. Sell the GT.

| 6' drop???? | Sexly Jun 13, 2003 5:26 PM | | Dude I had an Aggressor, the POS wouldn't hold up to CURBS much less a 6' drop. I hit a 2 1/2' drop when I had mine and pretty much taco'd the rim, and I am all of 150lbs, actually more like 135lbs at the time. I don't know maybe you are dropping onto mattresses or something but there is NO WAY that bike can handle a 6' drop!!!
That being said something like the Specialized Enduro, or P1 might be good for you, pretty beefy frames. The Kona Stuff is pretty beefy too. |
| 6' drop???? | Agressor Jun 13, 2003 6:27 PM | | I haven't taken any 5-6 foot drops i'm not comfortable on them, I'm alright up to about 4 feet and my rims dont seem to mind it and i weigh 175 and i'm 6' thanx for the reply though i look into them |
