Monocoque mtb frame?(3 posts)

Monocoque mtb frame?Peter Boudouris

I'm looking to buy an mtb frame and I ran into an aluminum monocoque hardtail frame that I really fell in love with. What I don't know are the pros and cons of such a frame. I would appreciate any help. The frame designer is greek and made in taiwan. The pick is a low res rendition of the shape. ( you can't see any detail, just the shape) And what about the protruding position of the crank set? Is that a good or bad thing? Thanks

The lack of additional suppert to dissipate side loads on the BB scares me. Forget it.

I appreciate your help and advice but what exactly do you mean by bb, and side loads? Keep in mind that I am from greece and not a mtb rider for a long time so some of the terms, I don't know.

thanks.
