However, the original post was for a friend of mine who wants to buy a nice hardtail. I'd like to direct her to a steel bike, knowing of course that aluminum bikes are more plentiful and cheaper (in most cases).
Just wanted to know if somebody still made reasonably prices cromoly steel hardtails in this price range.

Also look at the steel Bianchi Denali. I got mine for about $975 and it comes std with discs. You could probably get an '02 Denali with V-brakes in your price range. |
