Help I can"t decide which bike to purchase. They both have their ups and downs. Any feed back would be appreciated.

I've had an NRS2 since May and really like the bike. I have ridden a 3+ with disks and thought it was a nice ride as well. I got a great deal on my Giant and had simply read too many negative reviews of the Fisher on this site to risk buying one. That said - I bought a set of Time pedals because the ones that come on the NRS suck and my Skareb just broke. I fully expect Manitou to warranty it quickly. The NRS is extremely fast and handles very well.

Definitely ride both of them and see what fits you. You may find the 3+ fits you perfectly or you may like the NRS ride better. Also take into account the trails you ride and what type of riding you do.

Hope that helps!

trail bike or a race bike; or both. The sugar will be more plush and have more travel than the NRS. I haven't ridden an NRS so I can't compare ride charactoristics(sp). I have a 4+, but it has no original parts, so as far as the frame goes, it can take a beating and I also like the travel option. I can make it short for racing and than longer for everyday. Good luck.

I ride a 2+. The bike rides great. I'm an x-country trail rider. The travel is nice and it handles pretty much anything I've faced. The genesis geometry takes some getting used to. I shortened the stem to get a more comfortable ride. I'm not particularly tall. I'm told the geometry favors taller riders. Your weight will be positioned towards the back of the bike. Contrary to some reviews, I think it's a great bike on the downhill. When handling climbs, the front tends to get a little squirrelly. I've found that I really have to stick my nose to the handlebar when climbing. However, unweighting the front wheel can be an advantage when the climbs are rocky and rooty. On climbs, it's easy to unweight the front and pop right over things. I can't comment on the Giant, but would imagine the geometry is different. You should really try and decide whether the Fisher's genesis geometry is for you. Everything else on the bike can be replaced, but you're stuck with the frame.

I have had some issues with the chain (as the reviews have indicated). I'm currently negotiating with my LBS about getting this corrected.

I went for the Sugar 3+. This bike fit me much better than the giant.
Thanks for the response.
